Equifax Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Public record Georgia
On -/-/2016 I started my dispute with Equifax regarding Tax Liens and a bankruptcy on my credit report. I asked them in my initial request to validate and verify the debt providing me with copies of any documentation bearing my signature. In the absence of any such documentation bearing my signature, I requested that this information be immediately deleted from my credit file. As you will see in the documentation, Equifax deleted - records except for the bankruptcy and 1 tax lien. However, they did not provide any documentation verifying my signature. They stated verified but provided no evidence of how it was verified. I also discovered that 1 record they stated deleted, was back on my credit report as of -/-/2016. I then sent another letter on -/-/2016 to Equifax to validate this information and provide me with copies of documentation associated with these accounts. According to the fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( A ) ( 1 ) ( A ), the credit reporting agencies are required by federal law to verify - through the physical verification of the original signed consumer contract - any and all account you post on a credit report otherwise, anyone paying for your reporting services could fax, mail or email in a fraudulent account. On my Equifax report the bankruptcy remains along with one tax lien and they placed back a tax lien that was removed ( referred to earlier ). I 've attached my letters to Equifax, their correspondence, certified letter receipts, and the latest copy of my credit report from all 3 bureaus. I want the bankruptcy and tax liens removed if that can not be validated as according to the fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 609 ( A ) ( 1 ) ( A ). If they are not removed, I will have no choice but file a small claims lawsuit against each agency seeking damages for defamation, negligent enablement of Identity Fraud, and violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Any help CFPB can provide will be truly appreciated.
