Citibank Credit Card Complaint

On -/-/- I opened a new credit card account ( ending in - ) with Sears Citi Credit card. The reason for opening the account was essentially taking advantage of special promotional offer of 0 % interest for 18 months. My opening balance was $4600.00, which was the purchase amount of refrigerator, washer and dryer. At the time of opening I was only told that i can carry a balance for interest free for 18 months from -/-/- to -/-/-. I would like to stress the point that I was not given a chance to read through the contract as it was all shown on a small screen/ credit card swipe machine. Now from what was conveyed to me verbally, I or any reasonable person would infer the you can hold a balance of any amount upto the credit limit for a duration of 18 months interest free. Relying on this information I used this credit card to made more purchases which brought up my balance to roughly $6000.00. Now i was expecting that i can carry this amount interest free till -/-/- however sometimes later Sears credit card started charging me interest of the amount greater than the opening balance of $4600.00. What i felt was that i 've been con as well as being given wrong information about my credit card interest fee/charges and made a material difference in decision making. If i knew that only the opening amount/balance is interest free and not any amount exceeding it then i would n't have used this card to make purchases and should have used my other credit cards to balance the expenses interest free. This make me think that if i was a victim of this wicked trickiness then there must be many who fell for the same cheating promotional offer.
