JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
Unsolicited issuance of credit card California
Chase sent me an amazon.com credit card that I did not request. When I called to inquire, they asked if I had aver had a Chase account. I said that Chase bought my bank a long time ago, but that I had closed the account. They implied that the card may have been sent to me as a former customer. I asked that they close the account and they said that they would. When I checked my credit report a month later, it showed an inquiry from Chase ( dated before I received the card ) regarding a loan or credit application. ( The type of inquiry that could affect my credit. ) The card did not show up on my credit report one or two months after receipt. I am concerned that the inquiry could affect my credit rating and annoyed that I had to use two of my three annual free credit reports to be sure that Chase closed my account as promised. It also is annoying that I had to spend so much time on this issue.
