I recently received a card in the mail from NetSpend stating that I could receive my paycheck two days sooner if I chose their card and paid a $9.00 monthly fee for their premium service plan. I am not certain how they got my information or why they would send the offer to me. However, because I live in a relatively low income neighborhood, I fear that NetSpend is preying upon individuals who lack transportation to banks and/or the financial savvy to recognize predatory lenders/finance companies. I was instructed by a member of the - to bring this issue to the attention of the CFPB.
