Citibank Credit card department,
I paid my Citi credit card account in full. Additionally, I had no new charges for the month. Therefore, I would have expected that my billing statement would have a zero balance. But no. Citi charged me interest anyway that month on what they called " residual interest. '' I know of no other credit card company who has this practice. Their explanation was that I had to pay my bill in full not just for the most recent month but for 2 consecutive months to avoid interest. Wow. Talk about taking advantage of consumers! I 'm ashamed for them. It 's simply inexcusable. A sorry way to trick consumers into paying a lot more interest.
