On -/-/2016, I attempted to obtain a free copy of my consumer report by contacting Experian, the credit reporting agency listed, within 60 days of receiving a denial notice. I attempted to get my report via the website listed on my denial notice ( www.experian.com/reportaccess ). After filling out the required information and answering questions, the website indicated that it was unable to honor my request without explanation. I attempted to enter my information a second time, was denied again and was redirected to this site ( https : //www.experian.com/consumer.html ), which advertised in bold - font, " WHAT 'S YOUR FICO ( R ) SCORE? FIND OUT NOW WHEN YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT FOR $1.00 Checking your own credit will NOT lower your score Review your credit report for unfamiliar information Toll-free support available 7 days a week Fast and easy " A screen capture of this site is attached.


they did not have the ability to issue refunds and none of the first - indicated I could request a refund via email. The second supervisor gave me the email address -. I emailed this address, explaining what had happened, and was told that I signed up for a trial membership that converted to a recurring monthly membership and since I had failed to cancel within the 7 day trial period, the bill could not be refunded. I was also told that no pro rated refund could be issued. I did not intend to sign up for a recurring service. I did not use the service and gained no benefit from it. I promptly asked for cancellation and a refund or a pro-rated refund for the three days during which I had the service that it took me to become aware of the billing me.
