My credit report showed a tradeline for " Citifinancial Mortgage ''. I also received a IRS tax form with the same mortgage name/info on it. I never had a mortgage with this company. I contacted them and was told that the account number I was reading them did not exist and it was not even the format of their account numbers and therefore could not be theirs.


I sent a letter along with copies of my credit report and the tax form to the address on the tax form. I did not receive a response. I also sent a letter to a local law firm I was told are lawyers for Citifinancial, -. They also ignored me. The questions below such as the ones below, " which part of process '' etc. do not have proper answers because they do n't have options for accounts that are mistakes/result of ID theft.
