My wife and I have a Macy 's credit card. Today I received, in the mail, a notice that they had automatically enrolled us in credit protection program and would charge for this monthly based upon the outstanding balance. I called them and cancelled as I did not want nor ask for this. The reason I am writing is to complain about Macy 's in the context that it should have been an " opt in '' program not something that they could process to customers in an underhanded way and hope that people missed the notice and they could bill them. It was just lucky I read the notice and could just as easily missed it.
