Citibank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing California
I was shopping around for an airline ticket online when a Citi AAdvantage advertisement popped up offering $100.00 discount on the ticket. I applied for the card and purchased the ticket expecting the discount to be applied before finalizing that ( the ticket ) transaction. It did n't happen. I called Citi and I was told NOT ONLY that a $100.00 would be credited to the account once I were approved, but ALSO that I would get $100.00 off of EVERY - ticket I purchased during a year. Tomorrow the cc is due so today I checked the statement online and learned nothing had been posted. I called Citi again and I was told the credit would appear in the next billing cycle. Explanation as to why it was n't on the first statement was that the cycle ended on - - and up until that day I had n't used the card yet. It did n't make an sense to me. If the - cycle ended on the - and the balance was -, why was n't the $100.00 posted to the account in the - ' cycle? Tomorrow my - payment is due so today I printed the statement, walked into a Citi Bank and paid off the balance. I also talked to a, I believe he said, personal adviser. This employee made a phone call and then informed me that the offer is actually UP to $100.00 credit on purchases made on board of a - flight. I 'm an educated person. I can read. None of this nonsense was in what I was offered and accepted.
