Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection Ohio
Opened Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Signature Card on -/-/2016. A balance transfer of $13000.00 and a balance transfer fee of $390.00 were posted to the account on -/-/2016. The following payments totaling $1100.00 were applied to the account : -/-/2016 $390.00, -/-/2016, $390.00, -/-/2016 $340.00. The first statement was issued -/-/2016 showing a minimum payment due of $520.00, including $390.00 to cover the balance transfer fee. When contacted Wells Fargo refused to apply prior payments to first minimum payment although they were made prior to the first payment due date. Their only solution was to return the funds which they had previously accepted, but returned funds would not be received from Wells Fargo prior to first payment due date. Wells Fargo has purposefully, and deceptively increased the first payment minimum payment without applying payments made to the account prior to the first payment due date, specifically for the purpose of encouraging default and increasing fees and interest rate.
