I was issued a Best Buy Card ( Citi Bank ) credit line in - of - by a local Best Buy store. Store employees assured me that no interest would be charged for three years upon paying the minimum monthly payment. No physical " card '' or contract was ever received in the mail. I continued paying regularly till - -. Upon checking the account statement I noticed I had been charged interest to the amount of $1000.00. Once their promotional period of 24 months ( not 3 years as I was led to believe ) was over, Citi Bank added on an interest of 25.49 % APR starting from - -. Citi Bank failed to inform me that my promotional period was about to end, that an interest would be charged or the fact that interest would be charged from the issuing date.
