I closed my $450.00 / year Citi - - - card 51 days ago. I called today and to ask why I have not seen a check for the annual membership fee in my mailbox yet - the first rep I spoke with told me that it would take 2-3 billing cycles and that I 'd have to wait. When I said some time had passed he sighed and said 'yeah yeah, it can take some time ' as if I were his fraternity brother, not a premium card customer. Upond repeatedly requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was transferred to - ( rep ID - ) who informed me that I had closed my account 3 days too late to get my annual fee back. When I shared that I was not told that I would not get my fee back, he said that, unless someone had explicitly told me I would get my money back, then there is no issue and nothing he could / would do for me. I have not been advised that I am forfeitting - - when I closed the card - had I been told that, I would either have requested an exception or kept the card open. As it stands, Citi has taken my money, closed my account and essentially is retaining money for services not rendered - without informing me of this. I would like to have my fee back from Citi, I believe a reasonable request as my card is closed and I am not using any services. I was also not told that my fee would not be reimbursed. I appreciate your help in this matter.
