Citibank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Georgia
The Hotel had posted a charge on my credit card when the hotel stay was prepaid by a travel company used to book the hotel. The Hotel could n't locate the charge to refund and the travel agency recommended disputing the charge to refund the money. I disputed the charge with the credit card, receive a notice that I could supply additional information or a routine investigation would be completed. A month later, the dispute was rejected and I called the credit company and asked why. The credit card company representative told me the routine investigation consisted of essentially of doing NOTHING. It seems like the ENTIRE work on disputing the charge is on my end. I will be filing out the paperwork to send but I am extremely disappointed in the deceptive described service of " investigation '' which amounted to doing nothing. I think it is unfair for the typical consumer, especially for a straightforward case like this where the vendor does n't even deny the dispute, to expect a REASONABLE investigation to be performed when in fact, basically NO investigation was actually performed. Advertising to do an investigation and actually doing nothing and then asking the consumer to do - the work is false advertising.
