Citibank Credit card department,
On - -, 2016 I presented my Citi - card to - to pay for the - dollar ( $90.00 ) for my safety deposit box. Unknown to me the teller coded the - dollar charge as a " cash advance '' on my credit card instead of the anticipated normal credit card charge. Although I pay my credit card charges in full every month, Citi assessed a - dollar ( $5.00 ) fee for the cash advance and also charged - - cents ( $0.00 ) interest on the cash advance on the statement with period ending -/-/2016. And on my subsequent statement for the period ending -/-/2016 a interest charge of - cents ( $0.00 ) was shown for the - dollar " cash advance '' of -/-/2016 even though the cash advance had already been repaid. Today via a telephone call to customer service for Citi at - I was told by the Citi representative named " - '' that Citi will not provide the calculation of the - - cents and - cents for interest. It appears that Citi intends to continue to charge me interest forever for the original cash advance as well as interest on the interest forever even though the cash advance has been repaid. This is crooked and criminal. What is the CFPB going to do about it?
