Closing/Cancelling account Washington
I contacted Citibank on - -, 2016 to cancel an account that had been transferred from - - as part of the Costco credit deal switch. I very clearly wanted my account closed. I continued receiving bills, but did not realize that the account was STILL open until - -, 2016 at which point I called Citibank who confirmed that my account was still open and confirmed that I had contacted them on - -, 2016, but the content of the conversation was not confirmed. There is no way that there was any confusion over what I wanted - I specifically do not do business with Citibank due to past poor experiences. Similarly, the action requested ( to close my account ) was confirmed by the customer service representative, but never actually executed. They lied to me in order and kept the account open until I realized that it was still open. Upon contacting them on - -, I received confirmation that my account was closed, but this was an intentional denial of my cancellation request. My request was only submitted verbally.
