I have a Macy 's credit card account which has been in good standing since -. In -, - I purchased a dress for $100.00. In - I paid $30.00 to my Macy 's account and then later in -, I returned the dress and made a purchase of around $40.00. I was thinking that with the $30.00 payment and the return, I was probably about even and assumed I would receive a bill for the balance, if there was one. I have not used the Macy 's card since -. In - I reviewed my Fico score which is provided by - - - and I noticed that it had suddenly dropped from the mid - 's to less than - for " delinquency ''. But I was unaware of any accounts that were delinquent. I then pulled up my credit report and saw that Macy 's had reported me to all - credit bureaus as being 90 days delinquent, which greatly impacted my credit worthiness. I looked online at my Macy 's account and saw that I had a balance of $12.00 in - and then fees and interest had been added for the next - billing cycles. I saw that my account was " late '', that I owed $35.00, and that my available line of credit had been dropped from $4800.00 to $300.00. I immediately paid the balance. My complaint is that Macy 's never called me, sent an email or mailed me a bill. There was never any notification to me, by Macy 's indicating that I had a balance due. Now, because I was never properly billed for the $12.00, I have bad credit. I am hoping that there is some way this could be remedied, especially considering the low dollar amount that I owed and the fact that I had never been late in the past.
