There was a tax lien on my credit report. It should not have been there. I filed with the IRS to have it removed. They did remove it on - -, 2016. I also filed a dispute with Experian. They found in my favor and removed the report from my credit report. I checked my credit report today, 33 days after the paperwork was filed, and my credit score has not improved. I called Experian at -. I was told that the main number from their website was the wrong number - their department ca n't handle this. The representative then transferred me to their Membership department. I was told that Experian does n't have any control over my credit score!!! I said that is plainly ridiculous, as this is what their business does. I was then transferred to a " supervisor '' named - who also said he had no control over it, and my report simply needed to be " refreshed '' by the Dispute department. - in the Dispute department said that his department did not handle this, the Membership department does. I was irate, and explained that I had been transferred and put on hold for an hour and a half. I demanded to speak to someone in management who could help me. - said he 'd transfer me and the number that he transferred me to had a " this number is no longer in service '' recording and then disconnected me. I must emphasize that I was not verbally abusive in any way - I was direct and calm. I was patient. My ordeal ended at - with no one taking responsibility. My request is simple : I was told that the lien was negative and lowering my score, I went to a great deal of trouble to have it removed. My score should improve. Period.
