Citibank Credit card department,
I have a Home Depot credit card through -, and I have opted for online statements. I have a balance on it, and I have an overdue payment. The payment of $55.00 was due - -, so I am two weeks late. On - - I went online to schedule a payment. The online statement showed $130.00 due on - -. The amount of $130.00 includes the - payment, a late fee and the - payment. I scheduled a payment of $130.00 for - -. On - - Home Depot blocked my online access and shut off my credit card. I had no notice of this action until I attempted to use the card to purchase supplies. The store was unable to access my account, and I am no longer able to access my account online. The cashier called the credit line and I spoke at length to the Credit Dept representative. I have additional credit available on my - credit card, and I have a payment scheduled in 3 days for the past due and the current amount. But I ca n't access my card online, and I ca n't use the credit that 's supposed to be available to me. I told them this is an unreasonable policy because 1. the statement merely says that the past due and current payment are due on - -, and 2. they already charged me a late fee on that statement. The statement gives no information about shutting off access to credit. I 'm trying to run a business and need these supplies immediately for a major event in two days. Is this policy legal?
