Citibank Credit card department,
I applied for a Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Mastercard -/-/2016. I received my approval notice and initial disclosures dated -/-/2016. The disclosure indicates that I have an introductory APR of 0 % for 14 months, so when my first payment was due -/-/-, I only made the minimum payment of $45.00. On -/-/2016, I was charged nearly $55.00 in interest on the remaining $2900.00 balance. I contacted Citi via online message, and they messaged me back that the charge was valid and they 're not refunding my money. I checked my disclosures at home and called them, at which point they told me the 0 % offer was not on my account ( despite the paperwork they sent me saying the opposite ). They told me that though I applied under offer terms including 0 % introductory APR, they are allowed to approve me for the product but apply different terms than what I applied under. They said they will open an investigation that will take 14 to 30 days to conclude and falsely told me that since I paid off the entire balance ( including the erroneous interest ) today, I would incur no further interest charges. Though my current loss stands at $54.00, because of the way credit card interest works, I will be at a further loss by the time their investigation concludes.
