Barclays PLC Credit card department,
I had a - Rewards Credit Card issued by - -. I used the card for business travel between -, - and - for -/-/-. This card had no annual fee that I was aware of. I - -/-/-, and had no more use for the card. I did n't cancel the card right away because I had unused Rewards points on the card. -/-/-, - sent out a notice that they were changing credit card companies, from - - to Barclays. I took little note of it because I was not using the card and had no balance on the - - card. I received a new Barclay credit card in the mail but did not activate it. Around -/-/- I received a - balance statement from jetBlueCard. It showed interest rates charged, but I found no note of an annual fee. Around -/-/-, I received a bill from - for a $40.00 annual fee. I wrote a certified letter to - -, -. - -, -, - -, advising that I have not activated the card and did not see any notice that the card carried an annual fee. I asked the company to rescind the fee, cancel the account and remove it from my credit report. I never got a response from the company. They continue to send me a bill for the annual fee of $40.00, and have now added interest and a late charge of $27.00. I did n't ask for this card ; It never activated this card ; hence, I never agreed to use it. - - has no right to simply send me a card, activate it, and begin billing me for possession of the card.
