Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Colorado
After paying an initial - dollar for my " free credit report '' through Experian, I was secretly enrolled in a monthly service where I was billed - a month starting in - 2016, I NEVER agreed to do this, in fact they automatically enrolled me in the program without letting me know and never sent a single billing statement, they simply begin billing my debit card for that amount. Experian then raised the amount to - in - again without ever letting me know in any way I was paying for anything. Completely unrelated my bank sent me a new debit card as my old was expiring, somehow Experian GOT my new debit card number and began charging - for this secret service I was enrolled for. I called them when I discovered this charge on my checking account on - -, 2016 and immediately called them to get my money back and cancel this account, they only refunded me a single month back and said I was liable for everything before this because I agreed to this. I never agreed to anything like this, their practice of keeping everything to themselves just proves they were manipulating me the entire time. How is this legal or fair? If a private person was billing someone 's debit card without their knowledge or consent that would be credit card fraud! But because they are a credit reporting agency they can get away it? I am not alone, I googled this scam and hundreds of people are being ripped off by it. I filled a fraud complaint with my bank as I think these charges are ridiculous and fraudulent but I want Experian to be held accountable with the federal government.
