Hello, in - last year I needed a credit score for renting purposes. I went to Experian web site, it said I needed to pay $1.00 and I 'll be all set. Apparently I failed to read fine print, because there is a clause somewhere that unless you cancel your account within some " trial period '' you are automatically assumed to be a " member ''. They have been charging me $ - $ - monthly, in a way of automatic deductions from my debit card - ( information that they only had because I gave it to them to run my credit report! ) ever since. For services I did n't need, want, or have ever used. I consider this an abominable business practice. Shame on me for not reading the fine print, and I am sure they have a fleet of lawyers to make sure they get away with this, but I consider it outrageous that these companies are allowed to " assume '' that you are committing to something without explicit consent. That I know of, I never ticked any box saying " I agree to pay $ - $25.00 a month for all eternity, if I do n't cancel my account ''. It was not even entirely clear I created -. I thought the site was asking all the information in order to process a single transaction, that of $1.00 worth credit score. Is there ANYTHING that can be done? I feel like they prey on people and need to be stopped.
