As a background summary, I had an issue with fraudulent charges on my account and getting the matter resolved in a timely, effective manner. Due to my complete disgust with Wells Fargo 's handling of the matter, when it was finally resolved ( on or around - -, 2016 ), I demanded that my account be closed. I was told that it was and I confirmed this by logging onto the institution 's website approximately 3 days later and confirming that the account was removed. On Thursday, - -, 2016, I received an e-mail that my Wells Fargo statement was available for viewing. While the balance was $0.00, someone re-opened my account. I believe this is related to the checking account scandal. I do not know if this type of activity ( closing and then re-opening accounts ) was included in your investigation. If it was not, it should be. I have notified Wells Fargo of ( a ) the re-opening of my account and ( b ) my filing a complaint.
