We wrote a check for our rent in the amount of $1400.00. When it finally went through, Wells Fargo had changed the amount to $1700.00, sending the account into overdraft. We have spent over four hours on the phone over two days trying to get them to rectify the error as overdraft fees accumulate. They refuse to allow us to send them proof of the mistaken amount ( a scan of the check provided by our leasing office ), or reverse the error so that my wife 's account can be positive again. In addition, they keep insisting she needs to call them again the next day or wait for their call, which is nearly impossible because she works - for - straight hours and is not allowed to go have an hour long conversation while at work.
