Wells Fargo opened an UNauthorized credit card account for my son. He had just turned - years old, was a - and had no job, instead took care of his sick father. He was not financially capable of repaying this nor did he have any kind of financial literacy regarding credit. This was in -/-/-. I was not aware of any of this until he had a balance charged off. -/-/- I sent Wells Fargo a letter stating that issuing my son a credit card was in violation of The Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act of -/-/- which states numerous criteria but one of which is that a parent must co-sign which I 'd NEVER do. I 've asked them to remove this from his credit report based off of the this, but they did not comply. -/-/-, my son was approved to attend - University which only - applicants get accepted per year. His credit report was pulled, the Wells Fargo charge off appeared and they denied him admittance until this issue is resolved. Wells Fargo has a history of this type of behavior which I feel is predatory. Please assist me in getting this resolved immediately.
