This relates to existing Case No. - against - - -. I want to file a complaint against Citibank Corporation. in -, 2016, my father purchased a chair and he paid for it with his Citibank card. The total purchase was $1000.00. When he received the bill from Citibank in -, he wrote a check no. - on our joint - - - account for the full balance. It was put in a Citibank envelope and mailed. In -, Citibank called him and asked him why he had not made his payment. I contacted Citibank and gave them the check number and that it had cleared on - -. I also mailed them a copy of the check. I also contacted - - - and opened up a fraud claim. Citibank rejected the copy of the check because they did not receive the payment. They removed the conditional credit and added late fees and interest. I contacted - - - and received a claim no. -. - - - informed me that the check had been cashed by unknown persons at Citibank Branch No. -/Sequence No. -. They indicated that would contact Citibank. Then I heard nothing for a long time, and continued to try to follow up and finally filed a complaint with the Federal Reserve. I received promptly in - a letter from - - - to forward to Citibank which I did. Citibank just recently sent correspondence to my father indicating that they did not cash the check and would not pay the check. Citibank has now accumulated over $100.00 in interest on the unpaid balance of $1000.00 despite the fact that have sent them letters, and - - - has sent them letters. Now my dad owes them $1100.00, so I have to pay that balance and close the account, but I need help recovering that check from either Citibank of - - - because they playing against each other. - - - says they ca n't return the funds to the account even though they paid the check. Citibank just wo n't deal with it.
