Wells Fargo is the lender of this private student loan. The lender had been informed of my financial hardship for over 12 months. They had denied consolidation, lowering monthly payments, and finally when they offered a forbearance, they mentioned that I had to pay three months of on-time minimum payments. I have student loan debt that is triple my income. In monthly payments alone, a total payment equaling $1300.00. I had been through periods of time not receiving timely paychecks due to a public service related job. The three months of payment would have been fulfilled to receive the forbearance, but Wells Fargo failed to inform me that the payment was short of $67.00 to fulfill the three month terms and receive forbearance. It was less than 24-hours from the time the payment was attempted to be made to the time the loan went into default. The statements always mentioned only the past due amounts and did n't clearly state the minimum payments. When I addressed the issue with Wells Fargo they were rude and aggressive. There were no options to reverse the default. They ruined my credit for over a year without assisting in any manner. The supervisor ( - ) in the recovery department harassed me and treated me with no respect. I have countless records of trying to request payment assistance from this corporation. They also told me they reviewed my income and expenses but when I told them my expenditures for groceries and gas to carry-on my job, they told me that those were n't essential to determining sufficient payment.
