Amex Credit card department,
My credit card company, American Express, has reported inaccurate information about my account status on my credit report with Equifax and other credit reporting agencies. In addition, American Express deceived and misled me into believing that my credit card account was current when it was in fact not current. American Express has reported that my credit card account was 30 days past due in - 2016 and 60 days past due in - 2016. That information is wrong and inaccurate based on my billing statements. For that period, I paid the minimum amounts due by each due date, as indicated on my billing statements. On my - -, 2016 billing statement, it stated that the minimum payment of $170.00 was due by - -. Through an electronic withdraw from my checking account, I paid that $170.00 amount on - - ( before the deadline ).
On my next billing statement dated - -, 2016, it stated that the minimum payment of $190.00 was due by - -. Through electronic withdraws from my checking account, I paid that $190.00 amount in - installments on - -, - -, and - - - all before the deadline of - -. My - - billing statement is the FIRST time that American Express informed me that my prior payment of $170.00 ( for the - - billing statement ) was not paid by my checking account bank. Indeed, as stated earlier, as of my - - statement, the only amount that American Express told me that I owed was $50.00, which I paid on time. American Express did NOT inform me on the - - statement that my payment of $170.00 for the prior billing period was not paid by my bank. Thus, at the time I received my - - billing statement, I reasonably believed that my account status was current because that is what my statement expressly stated. Once I received my - - billing statement, I realized that my $170.00 payment was returned, and then I paid the amount owed ( $190.00 ) BEFORE the due date listed on that statement. I spoke to a supervisor at American Express on Monday, - -, 2016, and she refused to correct the inaccurate information on my credit report.
