U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
I would like to make the CFPB aware of unethical, possibly illegal interest-charging practices being carried on by US BANK credit cards. I am aware that US BANK has been sued for other illegal practices, and feel that someone with an expertise in consumer protection law relating to credit cards should look into US BANK 's interest-charging practices. Whereas all other credit card companies I 've ever used ( personal, business, etc : I 've had more than a dozen credit cards in the last 10 years ) charge interest on a balance only after the statement close, US BANK is charging interest on the entire balance for any sum not paid BEFORE the statement close date. In other words, it is quite possible to be charged a month 's interest on a purchase made 1 day before the close of the billing cycle. I am a US BANK - - credit card holder. I am happy to provide more information. I am not an expert in credit card consumer law, but have a - - - from - relating to Finance, own several companies, am fairly familiar with credit card practices, and believe that what US BANK is doing is unethical, if not illegal.
