Amex Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Connecticut
American Express mailed me a promotional offer for a American Express Business Platinum Card, with - American Express Reward points promised if I spent $20000.00 within the first 3 months of opening an account and - American Express Reward points if I spent $10000.00 within the first 3 months. I have had an AmEx Platinum card before, and I specifically asked the representative on the phone, " Do I qualify for points even though I had a card in the past? '' She replied, " Yes, you do qualify for the points. '' I banked on her promise, accepted the card, paid the membership fee, and planned to use the points for a trip with my fiance later this year. Now, I am told because the - explicitly say that those who have used this card before do NOT qualify for the points, I am no longer entitled to them. However, I DID E-PLICITLY INQUIRE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, AND I WAS PROMISED, BY THE REP, THAT I WOULD STILL RECEIVE
I want American Express to provide me with the - points to which I am entitled : they send flyers to people promising them something, and if their marketing strategy is to deceive people who do NOT qualify for a promotion a promotion, they are acting in bad faith and should be punished for deceiving the public and causing harm to not only me, but those more vulnerable in society who ca n't assert their rights like I can. Sincerely, - -
