We had a small $190.00 balance with a Chase Card that we did n't know about. We had electronic statements checked off online, but my husband had changed his email and we were n't receiving the statements. We did not receive any letters in the mail or any phone calls to inform us of the balance and to tell us that it was past due. Chase simply reported this to the credit agency without warning. This has now affected our credit.
