I had received a postcard in the mail from Citibank, encouraging me to sign up for their Citigold account, and offering me - frequent flier miles for - if I : signed up for account, spent $1000.00, and made - bill payments through Citigold. I learned after my miles failed to be processed that Citi meant that you have to make a payment through their bill pay system ( e.g. bills can not be paid through the debit card ). However, it never stipulated in the advertising or anywhere that I could find that you must make these payments through the bill pay system as opposed to the debit card. As you can see from the attached document, it is not at all specific. I argued this to Citi, via telephone and electronically, but they wrote back to me repeatedly that they would not honor the offer terms. Money was lost as there is a monthly account maintenance fee that Citigold charges.
