JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
Credit card protection / Debt protection Utah
A fraudulent charge was made to our credit card. Once we noticed the charge, we canceled the card, notified the credit card company ( Chase ) of the problem and filed a police report with our local police department. We sent in requested documentation to the credit card company, including a response when they provided additional documentation they received from the vendor ( - ) where the purchase had been made. We got a letter back stating that since we did not respond, they determined that the charges were valid. At that point, we called back, said that we HAD responded and that the charges were NOT valid and resent the faxed documents. Heard nothing. Called back a month or so later to see what the status was and they said that they had closed the inquiry again. We said we still contested the charges and wanted them to follow up. They still have not responded. It feels like they are just trying to make it difficult enough dealing with them that we give up and just accept the charges. It 's been over a year since we started the contestation process and it is still not resolved.
