Wells Fargo & Company Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Problems when you are unable to pay West Virginia
My husband and I went to - - in - WV in - of 2015 to purchase furniture for our new home. We asked the selling agent what our payments would be and we were told that they could not tell us because it was against Wells Fargos new policy. They said that our payments should not be more than $70.00 a month, which is what my last furniture payment was. We could easily make $70.00 work as a monthly payment. We also had to pay our sales tax before our furniture would be delivered. We paid $260.00 in cash and our loan amount was for $4400.00. Our furniture was delivered in - and when we received our first bill and it was twice the amount at $150.00. I called Wells Fargo and explained what we were told by - - and that we could not swing that high of a payment with our new home payment, student loan, car payment and a baby on the way. They said that we had signed a contract and that it
We were denied the appeal by Wells Fargo Speaking with them again they said that they could lower my payments if I were not under a contract and that I am required to pay the minimum due whether I can afford to or not. If I can not pay the amount due they will be forced to take action because of breach of contract. We have made the payments throughout the year the best that we could whether we were able to pay the full amount or just what we could afford. We have now received a letter stating that we must pay $280.00 by - - or they will be forced to take legal action and make us pay $4900.00. We were also charged $1200.00 in interest for one month. We have made our payments the best that we could throughout the year ( - ) causing our bills to pile up. Even after explaining all of this to Wells Fargo they were still unsympathetic to our cause and unwilling to work with us on this matter. If we had been quoted the price of $150.00 a month we would never have made the purchase because we could n't afford it and we knew that we could n't afford that high of an amount going into the purchase. But we were not quoted that amount, we were quoted $70.00. My credit score was right around - going into this purchase and it has since plundered. What are our options?
