After contacting and interrogating an individual with -, the collection agent abruptly discontinued the call by hanging up. This left the callee worried and confused about his status. He then felt he needed to involve a number of relatives to investigate and attempt to remedy the situation on his behalf. AmeriCollect, of -, WI was ultimately identified as the caller. We found that they had quickly determined that they had contacted the wrong individual. My complaint relates to their ultimate disposition of their call. When they decided they had the wrong person they should have made that clear before they abruptly ended the call.
