Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement California
- - - -, 2016 - - - - - - -, CA - To whom it may concern, The morning of - -, 2016 I had walked into the Wells Fargo located at - - - -, - -, CA - for an appointment with a Personal Banker by the name of - -. The intention of the meeting was to open up a business checking account and submit an application for a Home Equity Line of Credit. This intention was discussed in advance via e-mails and phone calls. During the meeting, I had let - know of my current job position as a Credit Risk Analyst at - - -. I had also disclosed that I used to work for Wells Fargo in several positions including that of Personal Banker. I notified - of my current financial needs and answered her questions for my Home Equity Line of Credit to the best of my knowledge. I brought in all requested paperwork for proof of my financial situation needed in underwriting ( tax returns, paystubs, bank statements, etc. ) Further into the meeting, I was offered a business credit
for another card. She stated that Wells Fargo already ran my credit so I did n't have to worry about another inquiry. I replied that an inquiry is not my concern, it was having a new account that I had no use for and that my current credit exposure is already too high and affecting my credit score. I also stated that I would be buying a new car by the end of the year and would n't want to chance any credit score deterioration to affect my rate. My answer was a firm " NO ''. Fast-forward to Saturday, - -, 2016. I go to check my mail and to my surprise I find a business credit card from Wells Fargo with a credit line of $10000.00. The exact card I remember saying no to! I promptly call the banker at - that day to complain. She returns my call at -, but it goes to voicemail as I had left my phone in the car while at the gym. Her voicemail states she did not open the card, and if she did, it was by slip of the hand. I called her back at around - that same day and reminded her that I used to work her position and I know what she was telling me was simply not true. I signed documents allowing only for new business accounts ( checking and savings ) and for the Home Equity Line of Credit. The signature was in an electronic box which is customary for Wells Fargo Banking practices. - explained to me what each signature was for and I took her at her word. I have then checked the copies of documents provided by - that was handed over to me in a Wells Fargo folder at the conclusion of our meeting. There were no documents pertaining to the Credit Card to be found. I have no idea how they opened up a business credit card without my signature. Whether it was forged or if they used - of my other applications to apply for the card. I will be pursuing removal of this new account on all credit bureaus it has been reported to. I will be calling the Branch Manager on - -, 2016 ( one day after this complaint submission to demand an explanation of his/her banker 's actions ). Please assist me in rectifying this matter. Thank you, - -
