Synchrony Bank Amazon Prime Credit Card is outside the norm when it comes to processing payments by check. Every other credit company takes at least 24 hours to process a check payment - including many Synchrony accounts. I schedule my payments 24 hours before my pay is direct deposited to ensure that the money is withdrawn on the day I am paid. Synchrony Bank Amazon Credit Card processes the transfer the same day so that the payment processes 24 hours earlier than normal. This month ( - 2016 ), I scheduled my payment of $130.00 on the Amazon Prime Store Card for - - so the funds would be withdrawn on - -. The funds were withdrawn on - - instead. This led me to be charged a $34.00 fee by my bank as my payment was turned back. I will probably also be charged a fee by Amazon Prime Store Card Synchrony Bank for a total of approximately $70.00. There is no visible notice on the Amazon Prime Store Card Synchrony Bank payment website about this anomolous practice. I would like any fees I incur as a result of this practice - from both my bank and Synchrony Bank Amazon Card - refunded by Synchrony Bank. Synchrony Bank Amazon Prime Card should also be required to change its practice to be in line with other financial institutions - or be required to prominently post this anomolous practice on its payment website. Finally, unlike other companies with interest free promotions, Synchrony Amazon Credit Card does not automatically post payments to its 0 % promotional balances - customers must actively change. Those customers who are not tech savvy will find themselves paying interest on promotional balances because they may not realize they must change how the payment is allocated or may not be able to figure out how to do so.
