Amex Prepaid card department,
General purpose card Unauthorized transactions/trans. issues New York
An unauthorized charge of $120.00 was taken from my prepaid credit card and applied to my estranged husbands account. When I contacted the company they said that because the card was used previously on the account, that they are authorized to take the funds. The card was supposed to have been transferred to my new account when I established it a few months ago. I have filed a complaint with American Express and with -, both with no success. American Express said they would contact me within ten days with a response as to whether or not they will return the money, but dispite several calls to them, they will not connect me with anyone in the dispute division. They just keep saying it may take longer than the 10 days. Its been over a month since I first contacted them to correct this issue. Your webpage states that they need to respond within the ten days, or refund the money minus up to $50.00. Can you please help me?
