Citibank Credit card department,
On - -, 2016 a payoff check was overnighted to the express payment department of Macy 's. On - - the check was cashed but my account has yet to reflect my payment. I faxed proof of the check ( 6 times ) and it was n't acknowledged until - -. I contacted Macy 's by phone at least 4 times a week for a resolution. Each time I had to tell my story over and over again. I was put on hold so many times for over 40 minutes only to be hung up on. I 've asked to speak to a supervisor but am given the run around each time. Last week they acknowledged my payment, but said it could take up to 2-3 billing cycles for my account to update. I 've been beyond patient and have done everything they have requested. Now I 'm being bombarded with collection calls, even after I tell them each time to read the notes and they assure me I 've been taken off of the auto calls. I do n't understand how an express payment is n't processed in a timely manner. Now it 's reflecting on my credit report that I 'm late with my payments, I 've paid on time each month. Macy 's assured me they would fix the credit reporting but I foresee another slew of phone calls and dead ends to fix the problem. Basically that could be a total of 5-6 months of waiting. I 'm in the process of purchasing my first home and this hindering me from applying for a loan. Macy 's needs to learn from this and understand the - toll it takes on their customers. Hopefully this could be a learning experience for the company.
