Closing/Cancelling account New Jersey
1. I applied - - platinum card and got approved on - - ; - Ref : - 2. I received new card and started using a card. 3. My card was being declined on - -. 4. On - -, I called - security/fraud department number and was told that I will get a call with reference number. Once I have a reference number, I was asked to call back - security/fraud department to verify the account. 5. I did n't get a call with reference number and called back - security/fraud department again on - -.
7. However, my card was still declining. 8. I called - security/fraud department again. I was told that security/fraud department canceled my account. 9. On - -, I was told by - customer service supervisor, -, that my account is still active but no new activity can be posted due to security/fraud department action. Only way to reactive my account is closed the account and apply new one. I am filing this complaint against - - - for following reasons 1. My account is still active but - does n't allow any new activity. 2. - does n't allow me to use my card when I verified all my identity/activity since their security/fraud department canceled my account. On - - call, - security/fraud department supervisor acknowledged that this cancellation was their fault. 3. I am filing complaint against - for their racial discrimination. My wife applied same card and used card for all same purchase I made. However her account was never frozen. Her last name is - ' which does n't imply her - -. I suspect that - security/fraud department selectively chosen my account since my last name implies that I am an -. -. I am being told only way for me to use - Platinum product is canceled my current account and apply again. However, my current account has very attractive sign-up bonus offer which was noted in - terms and conditions. - is forcing me to apply to new account which offers much less sign-up bonus offer. I am suspecting that - is doing this since they does n't want to honor originally offered terms and conditions.
