Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Need information about my balance/terms Maryland
I took out a private student loan with Citibank in - in the amount of $6400.00 to pay a balance owed on my student account. The loan was split into - disbursements of $1700.00, $1700.00 and $3000.00, each with their own loan fees totaling $640.00. The interest rate for $3400.00 was 7.50 % and the other $3000.00 was 8.00 % ( which increased this month to 7.75 % and 8.25 % respectively ) although my initial understanding of the one percentage rate. I - in - - and I began repaying this loan in - -. Since then, I 've made monthly payments which at this point total $4500.00 yet Citibank is claiming that I still have a balance of $6500.00. I have not any luck in getting Citibank to provide clarity as to how may payments are applied and how I 've managed to pay $3300.00 in interest but only $1100.00 in - months nor how I owe $6500.00 on a $6400.00 loan.
