Other bank product/service Making/receiving payments, sending money California
I have been a customer of Union Bank ( California ) for - years. Last week I tried to send a bank wire using money in my account to a bank in -, - - - - -. I was advised that the service would cost $50.00 which I thought excessive. In correspondence with the person in - to which I am sending the money I learned that he too must pay for receipt of the same funds an additional $40.00! Upon further research I find that my bank, Union Bank is wholly owned by his bank in -, Bank - - -! So the very same corporate entity is collecting from both ends, a total of $90.00! In itself this is outrageous but in light of all the political hoopla about Pacific Trade Agreements being good for business, the " good for business '' must mean the good for the corporate, not the individual!
