Amex Credit card department,
I hope all is well. I booked a hotel reservation through American Express Travel. The representative clearly stated over email ( I have the supporting documentation ) that my reservation could be cancelled without charge anytime prior to 7 days before my arrival. Due to an unplanned work commitment, I have to cancel the vacation. However, AME- is charging me the full amount and refusing to refund for the hotel stay - despite the fact that I cancelled well before the allowable date as stipulated in my original, written correspondence with AME- I appreciate anything you can do to help. This is an unfair violation of my rights as a consumer by a large corporation.
