Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute California
My daughter signed up on-line with Experian to look at her credit score. I gave her permission to use my credit card for the $1.00 fee. The credit score was available for 7 days, however, if she did not call to cancel, you would then be automatically signed up for monthly monitoring at a cost of $21.00. I saw that charge on my credit card statement and thought it was just for the original credit score look-up. When I saw another charge the next month, I called immediately. Experian said that she did not contact them to cancel, so I was billed. Experian agreed to cancel the service and refund as a courtesy the second charge. They refused to refund the first month charge. I asked them to send me copies of exactly my daughter signed up for and copies of the terms and conditions. Experian said that they could not provide me with any printed documentation of what my daughter signed up for on line and could not provide me with any documentation of the terms and conditions when my daughter signed up.
