Citibank Credit card department,
On - -, - I bought - - 's gift cards from - through - using my Citi Double Cash card. When I was looking at my credit card statement on - -, I noticed a advanced transaction fee for $13.00 and a minimum interest charge of $0.00 which I traced it back to the transaction mentioned above. I spoke to Citi customer service twice and they mentioned that the charge was incurred because it was a quasi financial institution and they blamed the seller for the charge. On the other hand, on - -, - I bought - - 's gift cards from the same seller through - with the same credit card and yet no charge was incurred. This is the second time this has happened to me, the previous time was on - -. Similar situation, bought gift cards through -
