Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute California
Experian.com 's main website banner offer 's a $1.00 credit report when clicked takes you directly to a page to fill out the form. No where on the banner does it state that you are agreeing to JOIN a recurring membership based website. No where in the process is there a field to opt out of this supposed membership. I got a $1.00 credit report on - -, 2016. I cancelled the credit card I used to purchase the report. The only notice I ever received from Experian was an email requesting I log in and give them my new credit card. I never did because I did not and was not interested in any further offers from their company.
I called Experian immediately when the charge was processed on my new credit card and asked why. The representative on the phone told me he could not help me unless I gave him my credit card number, the new credit card, I absolutely refused to do that and I argued with him until he agreed to find me by my social. It is obvious to me that Experian was attempting to get my new credit card number to weaken my ability to dispute the charges. Having text below a banner on a website does not tie the advertising banner together with the offer. Then when calling to complain the company tries to strong arm me to hand over my new credit card information because they don ' t have it and they know they do n't have it which further shows I had absolutely no intention of doing business with them nor do I ever intend to again.
