Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
I started a new job with Sam 's Club ( - -, -, MI ). During orientation we were told that as new employees we were given a free basic membership but we at the same time we were being encouraged to open a more advanced Membership called a PLUS Membership for an additional fee of a deduction of $2.00 taken out of our pay every week. We were also encouraged to open a Master Card Membership which would again offer cash back rewards for using this card. Since I 'm looking to rebuild my credit score, I had lost who lost not only my job but also my home of 24 years in a robo signing here in Michigan. I had a credit score of - when I was forced into bankruptcy protection back in 2010. Up until I applied for this Sam 's Master card I have never been denied for a credit card. And this time not only was I denied a Sam 's Credit card approval, but they in turn automatically gave me a personal line of credit for $1200.00. I was shocked and said, " no thank you '' to this line of credit. The response back to me what that it was automatically done, that the line of credit had already gone through and that I 'd be receiving a credit card along with an explanation as to why I was denied the Master Card. When I repeated that I did not want the line of credit and said I think I was SLAMMED with a credit card and I think this is a problem. I explained that if I cancelled that line of credit that it would go against my credit rating. The person at the Sam 's Club Membership Desk stepped back, held her hands out, palms facing me, - fingers spread, as if to say hey lady! and continued to say " it 's not me, it Synchrony Bank, the creditor.
