Amex Credit card department,
Credit line increase/decrease Delaware
I was issued a credit card from Amex with a minimal credit line. When I was told what the credit line was, I immediately reached out to their new accounts department. After being transferred around several times and on hold for 90 minutes I finally reached " the right area '' here I was advised that I can have my line reconsidered once I get my card, with a soft pull of my credit report. I was only advised this after I stated I wanted to cancel the account if I ca n't be reconsidered for a higher line. When I called back two days later ( when I received my card ) I was told my account has to be open for greater then 60 days to ask for a increase which may or may not place another inquiry on my credit report. Basically I was lied to and misled on that first call
