Sears Credit Card has changed the way to access online statements. You now need to have an active credit card to create an account. They closed my account two years ago when I was unemployed, even though I paid them on time every month. Now I can not access my balance or schedule payments because I can not access my account online. I have to wait for them to send me a monthly statement in the mail ( and they do n't even provide a mailing envelope anymore! ). I feel this is an underhanded attempt to get people to mail in payments late so that they can collect more late fees off account holders who no longer shop with their credit cards.
