Synchrony bank is the issuer of Amazon 's store credit card. If you look at the feedback for the card on Amazon 's site, you will see there are negative feedback ratings regarding Synchrony bank changing credit limits without notice. While this may be happening as well, Synchrony is also doing the following : they are delaying giving proper credit when payments are made. They are giving credit in their automated customer service system. If a consumer calls, their system says 'We received your last payment of - on Y date ; however, they are not reflecting the available credit immediately. This affects the consumer 's available credit & has the impact of artificially lowering the credit limit as well as artificially making it appear a consumer is closer to their credit limit than is actually the case.
this. I made a payment to Synchrony on a Monday. I called the automated system for a week straight. The automated system acknowledged my payment but also told me my credit available was much lower than it should have been. I called their customer service area? was repeatedly told my card limit had not changed. So they credit people for payments but do n't make the credit available on the card. I believe this is the reason behind the negative consumer comments about the card. If this is not illegal, it should be for the reasons outlined here. This is a deceptive consumer practice affecting people 's credit on a daily basis. Please use your enforcement powers to investigate and fine the company accordingly. Also be very public about this ; people need to know this company does this.
